Contracts

Voidable contract

A contract one party may cancel and the other may not

It is valid and enforceable until the party with the right chooses to disaffirm. Contracts entered into by a minor, or under fraud, duress, undue influence or misrepresentation, are voidable by the party who was disadvantaged.

How the exam asks about it

The trap is which party holds the option. It is always the injured or protected party — never the one who applied the pressure.
